BAHARU renews traditional craft into eye-catching and contemporary home decor and furniture. BAHARU is the retail brand of the nonprofit Friends Craft Cooperative, where we design, train craftspeople, and handmake no nail furniture and home goods.
The Future is Handmade
Crafts have so long been relegated to the primitive, the oriental, and the nostalgic, so here we demonstrate the potential of contemporary crafts, design, and their processes as:
- New expressions of contemporary Asia, and;
- A technology of production that creates a more optimistic, equal, and inclusive future.
