What we do?
New Asian Traditions is a common owned label that represents our network of craftpeople to stage the finest traditionally informed contemporary crafts being authentically made in Asia today. New Asian Traditions is the brand label for works produced and/or distributed by the nonprofit Friends Craft Cooperative.
Why we do?
Crafts have so long been relegated to the primitive, the oriental, and the nostalgic, so here we demonstrate the potential of contemporary crafts and their processes as
- New expressions of contemporary Asia, and;
- A technology of production that creates a more optimistic, equal, and inclusive future.
